Saturday is the last opportunity for those still looking to get their Christmas parade fix this holiday season.

Saturday, Florala’s “Down-home Southern Christmas” parade, which is sponsored annually by the Tri-Cities Area Chamber of Commerce, is set to roll downhill at 5 p.m.

The Florala Historical Society will host a Christmas bazaar from 8 a.m. until noon at the depot, with local musical entertainment set to perform from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Boston butts and BBQ plates and sandwiches will be available at 11 a.m.

Mayor Robert Williamson will serve as grand marshal and the 98th Army Band from Ft. Rucker will perform both during the parade and for approximately 30 minutes afterward at the depot.

“And of course, Santa will be in the parade and at the depot for free pictures and hot chocolate,” said city councilman and chamber member Jimmy Waldrop. “We’ll also have live entertainment. We have heard there may be rain, but unless it just becomes a downpour, the parade will go on.”
