With all the work now in the hands of the big guy in red and his team of reindeer, his elves are probably breathing a huge sigh of relief as their work is now behind them for this holiday season.
For many, many months, the elves now have the opportunity to kick back and have a little fun on their first day off.
Some of the first graders at Straughn Elementary School had some interesting ideas about just what exactly would be fun activities for Santa’s elves.
Amber Taylor: “I think they’ll play outside in a tree house.”
Sergio Silva: “Now they get to go work on a farm and go get milk.”
Cody Wallace: “They’re going to play with their toy trucks and eat candy canes.”
Chip Morgan: “The boy elves will ride snowmobiles.”
Tucker Livingston: “They’re going to build block towers and ride on snow sleds.”
Will Driver: “They like to play in the snow in January and skate on the ice in February. They only get two months off.”
Gabe Turner: “They’re going to ice skate on the pond and play with toys.”
Gracie Lawson: “They’re going to play on a rocking horse.”
Rebecca Lynn Bende: “Them gonna sleep.”
Demetri Tony: “They’s going to play snowball fight.”
Austin Ingram: “I think they’re going to sing and eat.”
Tanner Odom: “They’re going to play video games and watch Alvin and the Chipmunks.”
Leighton Wallace: “I think they’re definitely going to take a break and go to the beach.”
Jake Wilson: “Play basketball, that’s what they’re going to do, and when they’re not playing basketball, they’re going to play NCAA 2009 with Santa ‘cause he needs a day off too. And playing basketball is fun.”
