The Mary Joyce (Taylor) Beasley Endowed Scholarship recently was established at LBW Community College in memory of a nurse whose hands touched thousands of lives.
“This scholarship endowment honors and recognizes the many years of tireless and devoted work of Mrs. Joyce Beasley to her community as a registered nurse,” said Alan Thrash, president of the MacArthur State Technical College Foundation.
“The generosity of the Beasley family in creating the scholarship will help educate and shape the careers of future nurses, who can then aspire to work as unselfishly for the sick and to meet the high standards of care demonstrated by Mrs. Beasley.”
The scholarship will be awarded each academic year at the beginning of the fall semester to a LBW Community College nursing student with excellent academic standing and demonstrated financial need, he said.
