The driver injured during Thursday’s head-on collision was identified Friday as Ladonice Freeney of Andalusia.

Freeney and her 8-year-old son, whose name was not released, were both life flighted to Pensacola, Fla.’s, Sacred Heart hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as Jeffery O’Quinn of Hartford. O’Quinn was not injured during the accident.

The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. on MLK Expressway. Circumstances leadin up to the accident remain under investigation.
