On Nov. 18, 2009, five students from the Red Level High School JAG Career Association attended the 13th annual Student Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
Those attending were Nikki Chandler, Mercedes Jordan, Jessica Stroud, Darshana Maddox and Scott McCormick. The students were accompanied by Scott Donaldson, Job Specialist along with chaperones Dawn Kelley and Alichia Welcher. This trip was a great opportunity for students to experience a much larger and more diverse world of possibilities. During the trip students were able to participate in leadership building activities and work shops. Featured speakers included Miss America, Katie Stam, along with national political leaders and representatives from some of America’s best and brightest in the business community.
This was indeed a great opportunity for those who made the trip. However, without the support of local business and individuals this experience would not have been possible. Red Level High School and the JAG program expressed appreciation to the following contributors: Covington Electric Cooperative, Coterie Club of Andalusia, Gregory B. and Jan White, Michael L. Jones Jr., Superior Bank of Andalusia, CCB Community Bank, Merrell and Bryan, LLC-Attorneys at law, Woodard, Patel and Sledge – Attorneys at Law, Civitan Club, Kiwanis Club and Goldco LLC d.b.a. Burger King of Andalusia.
