Joseph Walter DuBose Sr., 72, loving husband, father and grandfather left this life on Feb. 24, 2010.
He was born in Andalusia and married high school sweetheart, Syble Tucker. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a missionary with his wife. He loved his family and never met a stranger. He loved to win and like to keep score. He liked to play golf and was interested in real estate.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oney Jack DuBose; mother, Esther Moody; brothers, Odis and Archie DuBose; and granddaughter, Brittany McArthur.
He is survived by his wife, Syble DuBose; children, Angie and Wes Stepherson, Melanie Moore, Debbie and Al McDonough, and Joey and Meric DuBose; grandchildren, Jacob, Abe, Issac, Elijah, Noah and Eve Stepherson, Brand Ben and Matt McArthur, Brooke, Tara and Nikki Moore, Paige Bennett, Allie McDonough and Emma and Daniel DuBose; siblings, Odis DuBose, Kenney DuBose, Nora Dickens, Glenda Nall and Linda Tisdale.
He will be laid to rest today, Sat., Feb. 27, with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pensacola. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. A procession to the graveside will begin at 3 p.m. to Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brandon McArthur, Ben McArthur, Abe Stepherson, Bryan Moore, Garrett Baggett and Troy Simpson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill DuBose, Fred Killiam, Bob Mitchell, Earl Boyd, Bobbie Barbaree, Gary Flanders, Darrell Spikes and Jacob Stepherson.
