A Florala woman is dead and two others injured after a weekend traffic accident on U.S Highway 331.

Florida Highway Patrol reports indicate Lajennia Brown Spicer, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene of the one-vehicle accident, which occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m., Saturday about a half a mile north of County Road 2 in Walton County.

Reports indicate the driver, 31-year-old Dereke Jason Walsh, 31, was seriously injured when his 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was traveling north on U.S. 331, veered off the roadway onto the east shoulder. When he attempted to steer back onto the roadway, he overcorrected, and the vehicle began to spin out of control, eventually flipping numerous times before coming to rest on the passenger side.

Walsh was transported to Northwest Florida Medical Center for treatment.

Reports show passenger Rusty Townsend, 29, was also seriously injured when he and Spicer were ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
