Looking for something to pretty up the front yard?
Look no farther than the City of Andalusia’s Relay for Life team’s annual two-day plant sale.
Beginning today from 8-6, the Court Square will be filled with perennials, annuals, tropicals, trees and shrubs.
Prices range from $2 to $75, said city horticulturist Vanessa Nelson.
“We’ve got things like climbing roses, four types of hydrangeas, cannas lilies and all sorts of a great selection,” she said. “We even have sugar maples that range in size from 10 feet to 12 feet.”
The sale will continue Thursday from 8-5.
Last year’s event raised $4,000 for the Relay team and organizers hope to exceed that total.
“That’s why we need people to come out,” she said.
Thursday will also feature two other Relay fundraisers for the city – the “Arrest-A-Friend” event, which begins at 9 a.m., and “Lunch on the Square” from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Lunch consists of your choice of one hamburger or two hotdogs, chips and a drink for $5 and homemade ice cream for $2 a cup.
