Eighty-eight travelers from Covington County made the trip to a little-known tourist site in Cullman County on Sat., Feb. 27, by way of Betty’s Alabama and Florida Tours.

The group visited the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Ala. It was constructed in 1999 under the auspices of Mother Angelica, founder of the EWTN Network and features a castle, a beautifully ornate cathedral, as well as a smaller crypt church.

The group made the trip as part of the local Travel Club. Those wishing to learn more about other upcoming trips to Branson, Boston and New Orleans can contact Betty Mitchell at 388-2778.
