MONTGOMERY (AP) — The Governor’s Task Force on Illegal Gambling says it will enforce gambling laws at Victoryland in Macon County when a court order is lifted that bars the task force from operating in the county.

The task force filed legal papers with the Alabama Supreme Court on Monday asking it to toss out an order by a Macon County judge that prohibits the task force from operating in the central Alabama county. That is the last legal arguments to be filed in the case before the Supreme Court rules.

Circuit Judge Tom Young blocked the task force March 5 at the request of Macon County’s sheriff, district attorney and commission. His order allowed Victoryland to reopen after being closed more than a month to prevent a raid.
