Opp High School principal Jeff Rhodes will have a new job next year.
The Opp Board of Education Tuesday approved his voluntary transfer from OHS principal to career tech director and cooperative education teacher.
The board also accepted the resignations of Roberta Hall, a child nutrition program worker at Opp Middle School, and Amy Harrison, an aide at Opp Middle School.
In addition, the board voted to accept the state textbook adoption list for career and technical education, health education, physical education and technology education.
Superintendent Michael Smithart said the system recently received a $4,044 check from the Southeast Alabama Gas District that reimbursed the system for its gas expenses.
“We plan to use the money for campus beautification,” he said.
Smithart also said they are currently working out the details for the next budget year.
“We have a budget now,” he said. “All the state-funded teachers are funded, but there are other areas that are underfunded. We have to work those out.”
