County garbage rates will increase in June by 20 cents per resident.

Commissioners announced Tuesday that Allied Waste, the county’s current waste service provider, would raise residential garbage rates June 1 from $14.13 monthly to $14.51 monthly.

The new rate reflects a 2.68 percent increase in the consumer price index, Chairman Lynn Sasser said.
