Nolan Temis Martin, 59, was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child under 12 and first-degree sodomy.
Covington County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to Martin’s alleged behavior after a woman claiming to be his girlfriend reported it to the Opp Police Department, stating she “had seen her boyfriend molesting a young female,” Investigator Greg Jackson said.
“That was on Friday, about midnight,” Jackson said. “Deputies made contact with the child and her mother. After a two-day investigation, Nolan was brought in for an interview where he confessed to the reported actions.”
Jackson declined to comment on the relationship between Martin and his alleged victim but did confirm they were not related.
He said the incident occurred at Martin’s home.
Martin is currently being held in the Covington County Jail under a $400,000 bond.
