MAMIE LUE

JOHNSON

Services for Mamie Lue Johnson, 49, of Andalusia, were held Fri., June 18, at First Baptist Church of Andalusia with Dr. Wiley C. Neal officiating. Interment was in Marshall Cemetery.

She died Sun., June 13, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was a member of the Andalusia Church of God in Christ where she was a member of the Usher Board and a member of the choir.

She is remembered as an outgoing person who enjoyed and lived life to its fullest.

She was a sports enthusiast and loyal fan and supporter of the University of Alabama. She encouraged and supported many young, aspiring athletes to excel in sports and academic excellence.

For many years, she worked at the former Wesley Daycare Center and drove for the Covington County Transit System until her health declined.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Jean Stallworth-Johnson of Andalusia; husband, Andrew Johnson; five children, Michael Johnson, Dexter Johnson and Christina Johnson of Andalusia, Joshua (Ashley) Johnson of Clarksville, Tenn., and Nico Johnson of Andalusia; three brothers, Bernard Stallworth of Crestview, Bobby Johnson of Birmingham and Robert Shakespeare of Andalusia; three sisters, Joyce (Aubrey) Shepherd of Mansfield, Ohio, Sonya (Oscar) Johnson-McAdory of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brenda Johnson of Andalusia; five grandchildren; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sonnie Johnson, and a sister, Diana Johnson.

JEAN BULLOCK

CHERRY

Mrs. Jean Bullock Cherry, of Newport Road Montgomery, died Wed., June 9 at Jackson Hospital.

The family received friends at Leak-Memory Chapel on Mon., June 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral services were held Tues., June 15 at 10 a.m. in Leak-Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Cassity officiating.

Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.

Mrs. Cherry was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Cherry Sr. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin L. Cheery Jr. (JoAnn) of Alabaster, Ala.; Dean Cherry (Sara) of Montgomery; three sisters, Nina Merle Bullock; Mary Lou Nichols and Betty Bullock Johnson all of Red Level; four grandchildren, Tripp Cherry (Mandy), Christy Cherry, Kline Cherry and Danielle Cherry and one great-granddaughter, Ruth Cherry.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Library Fund at 5260 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36116.

MARGARET BOONE

Mrs. Margaret Boone, age 53 of Andalusia , passed away June 15, 2010, in a Mobile hospital.

Graveside services were held 10 a.m., Friday at Stone Lake Gardens cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, James Boone of Andalusia; mother, Vivian Brackin of Andalusia; sons, James Boone Jr. and Robin Wesley both of Baldwin County; daughter, Amanda Boone; and sister, Lori Seaney of Andalusia.

BENTON SPORT

Mr. Benton Sport, age 54, of Andalusia passed away Fri., June 18, 2010.

Funeral Arrangements will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home.
