The Andalusia Bulldogs football team won the 7-on-7 Wiregrass tournament last Thursday at Westgate park in Dothan.

“I feel like we stuck with our game plan, and our guys gave a great effort,” Andalusia coach Brian Seymore said.

The tournament consisted of 10 teams competing for the top spot.

Andalusia lost its first game to Daleville, but bounced back to win two straight against Eufaula and Pike County before falling to Dothan.

The Bulldogs lost their fifth game to Elba to put them as the three-seed heading into the last round of the tournament.

Andalusia then went on to beat Charles Henderson, Headland and knocked tournament host Northview High School out.

In the finals, the Bulldogs came through with the victory over Dothan, who was undefeated leading into the finals.

Andalusia will play in its second 7-on-7 tournament today at Pleasant Home. The tournament begins at 6:30 p.m.
