An Andalusia woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having inappropriate sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy after the two were found at a local campground.

Amanda Lynn Cook, 23, is now facing three separate felony charges after deputies with the Covington County Sheriff’s Office came in contact with the couple in the early morning hours of Tues., July 5, at Pt. A Park.

Reports indicate, “When deputies approached the pair, it was apparent the two had been engaged in consensual sexual activity.”

Deputies then notified the on-call investigator, Howard West, who interviewed Cook and the unidentified juvenile – both of whom were cooperative during the course of the investigation.

Cook is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of a person under 17 after she was found to have an explicit photo of the juvenile on her cell phone.

Other charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Cook was booked into the Covington County Jail and released later Tuesday afternoon on a $30,000 bond.
