Teams advance at state tourney

This is the latest from the 2010 Alabama State All-Stars softball tournament at the Andalusia Sports Complex.
6-and-under
South Alabama beat Alex City 20-19, and will play the winner of the Covington County-Alex City game today at 8:30 a.m. on Field No. 1.
8-and-under
The South Alabama team chalked another win on the board defeating Covington County 11-7 Friday afternoon.
South Alabama will play Alex City today at noon on Field No. 1.
10-and-under
In 10-and-under action Friday night, Alex City got a 14-3 rout over South Alabama, scoring five runs in the first inning, seven runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning.
South Alabama scored two runs in the second and one run in the third.
12-and-under
Alex City claimed another defeat over South Alabama, winning 14-5 Friday afternoon.
14-and-under
In the last game of the day Friday, South Alabama defeated Atmore 18-0 in five innings.
South Alabama scored 13 runs in the first inning, and five runs in the second inning.
South Alabama needs to win today at noon on Field No. 3 to win the state tournament.
