Four local teams will advance to the Babe Ruth Softball regional tournament in Altamonte Springs, Fla., later this month after winning state tournaments here this weekend.
The Covington County 8U, 10U and 12U All-Stars each won their tournaments, as did the South Alabama 14U All-Stars.
In the 8-and-under title game, Covington County beat South Alabama 12-8.
In the 10-and-under title game, Covington County defeated Alex City 9-6.
The South Alabama All-Stars defeated Atmore, 16-0, in the 14U championship game.
In 6-and-under action, Alex City won the state All-Stars title with a 21-14 win over South Alabama.
The regional tournaments begin July 23.
