Law enforcement officers have identified the 4-year-old who was murdered Friday as Curtis Alexander Ruede, and said his uncle has confessed to shooting him.

Both Ruede and the man charged with his murder, John Curtis Davis, 25, lived with Ruede’s grandmother and Davis’ mother at 2017 W. Cummings Ave. in Opp.

The child’s mother, Kimberly  Harris, was experiencing financial hardship.
