Applicants sought for Miss Labor Day pageant

Young ladies hoping to pursue college degrees may have another reason to cheer this fall. The Andalusia Business and Professional Women’s Club is hosting the Miss Labor Day Pageant on Sat., Aug. 14, 2010, for ages 0-21 at the LBWCC Dixon Center in Andalusia.

Miss Labor Day Queen 2010 will receive a $350 scholarship, with the first alternate receiving a $250 scholarship and the second alternate receiving a $150 scholarship.

There will be a $50 savings bond, banner and flowers awarded to each queen in all other categories. All first and second alternates will receive a banner and flowers. Flowers and banner will be awarded to each contestant that is named Miss Photogenic for their division.

The entry fee is $35, and contestants wishing to enter the Miss Photogenic competition must pay an additional fee of $5 per photo.

Categories are as follows:

• Baby Miss (0-18 months)

• Toddler Miss (19-35 months)

• Tot Miss (3-4 years)

• Tiny Miss (5-6 years)

• Petite Miss (7-8 years)

• Mini Miss (9-10 years)

• Junior Miss (11-12 years)

• Pre-Teen Miss (13-14 years)

• Teen Miss (15-16 years)

• Miss Labor Day (17-21 years)
