Sassers attend conference
Covington Electric Cooperative members Jason and Megan Sasser of Red Level represented CEC at this year’s Co-op Couples Conference in Orange Beach.
The conference provides an opportunity for young couples in the agriculture industry to gain more insight as to how cooperatives can assist them with their businesses.
The Sassers have full-time careers and raise cattle. They are active in the New Hope Independent Baptist Church in Red Level, and Megan serves as vice president of Guardian Angel Christian Academy’s PTO.
The Sassers have one son, Mitchell, who is 6.
Copeland joins food company
Christy Copeland of Andalusia has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct sales company featuring more than 60 delicious, easy-to-prepare foods.
As an independent business owner, Copeland offers food samples at home taste-testing parties, along with easy ideas for everyday meals, recipes, serving suggestions and fun.
Allstate honors Jackson
Allstate agency owner Chris Jackson has been designated a Premier Service Agency for 2010.
Bestowed upon less than 30 percent of Allstate’s nearly 12,000 agency owners across the country, this designation was presented to Jackson for his commitment to exceeding customer expectations in the agency.
Gambril reappointed to committee
Greg Gambril recently was appointed to a third term on the executive committee of the Alabama District Attorneys Association.
This executive committee is the governing body of the ADAA and formulates policy and guidelines of the organization.
Darbys named to APA board
Andalusia residents Laura and David Darby were recently elected as new officers with the Alabama Pharmacy Association at its 129th annual convention and trade show.
The Darbys are both pharmacists and owners of Darby’s Village Pharmacy.
Mrs. Darby was elected as trustee at large No. 2.; Mr. Darby, a trustee for District 12.
Mr. Darby was also awarded the J. Wayne Staggs Distinguished Service Award.
The Alabama Pharmacy Association is a nonprofit professional organization with more than 1,800 members statewide.
Gambril also serves on the ADAA’s Zerometh Committee.
