Community needed for AHS pride day

Andalusia High School Principal Dr. Daniel Shakespeare is calling on the community to step up and “take pride” in the campus by participating in a workday on Saturday.
The community has already reached out and supported AHS by donating 100 gallons of paint to help restore the exterior of the school.
Shakes -peare said the workday will begin at 6 a.m. and will end at noon.
“It gets hot around noon, so we’ll just stop then,” he said. “We need as many people as will volunteer to help us. We need them to paint, cut shrubbery, power wash – that kind of stuff.”
Shakespeare asked for donations to repaint the outside of the high school last month, because he said a majority of visitors to the school never set foot inside.
“It’s important for the outside to look good,” he said.
Right now, the exterior paint is faded and cracking, and it is in need of a fresh coat of paint.
Shakespeare said he really needs everyone who can to chip in and help.
“I think in every community, the school is an investment of the community,” he said. “Everyone needs to come out and support.”
