Meredith’s Miracles will host its annual fish fry and bake sale on Fri., Aug. 20, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Andalusia Southside Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under, and plates include fried catfish or chicken fingers, fries, cheese grits, green beans, coleslaw, hushpuppies, drink and dessert.
“This is some great home cooking,” said event organizer JoAnn Jones. “Meredith’s Miracles does so much for the families of this county, and this is a great opportunity for the community to allow them to make those contributions to families when they need it most.”
Donations are also needed for the event bake sale, Jones said.
“They did this last year, and it was a big hit,” she said. “But we need people to donate items. Cakes, cookies, pies, you name it, and we’ll be happy to take it.”
Donations must be dropped off at the church before 3:30 the day of the fish fry, she said.
Currently, there are 120 members of the Miracle Club; however, volunteers are always needed.
Tickets are on sale now at Harold’s Furniture and Flooring, Covington Pediatrics, PowerSouth and will be available at the door. Take-out will also be available for the event.
For more information or to purchase a ticket, contact Jones at 334-303-2060; Kiley Spears at 427-5321 or June Simpson at 222-3265.
All proceeds raised during the event will benefit Meredith’s Miracles, a non-profit foundation named in memory of Russell and Janna McGlamory’s daughter who passed away from a form of childhood cancer in 2003 and established to help families with their non-medical related expenses when they are required to leave area to receive specialty care that is not available locally.
