Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Todd Caton Sr. are pleased to announce their son, Stephen Todd Caton Jr., has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America.

Caton is the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald D. Norris of Andalusia and the paternal grandson of Mrs. James B. Caton and the late Mr. James B. Caton, also of Andalusia.

He began his scouting experience with Cub Scout Pack 46 in 2000, and earned the rank of Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouting.

He continued his Boy Scout experience at Troop 46 in Andalusia. Under the guidance of Scoutmasters Jay V. DuBose and Gay Buck, Caton climbed the ranks of scouting, hoping to one day reach his goal of Eagle Scout. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow, Cowikee Lodge No.224, Scouting’s national honor society in 2008. He is also a fifth year staff member of the Woodlore Camping School.

His Eagle Scout project consisted of building a privacy fence and benches and planting shrubs at the First Presbyterian Church playground.

He officially received his Eagle Scout Award on May 16, 2010, at a ceremony at the Mark Saxon Wise Memorial Scout Hut.

Caton is a junior at the Andalusia High School, where he is involved with many extracurricular activities.

Stephen is shown with his parents, Todd and Jackie Caton and his sister, Hope Caton.
