Complaint in Opp leads to arrest for drugs

An Enterprise man was arrested on drug charges in Opp Sunday after the Opp Police Department responded to a complaint of illegal drug use.

22nd Judicial Circuit Task Force Agent David Harrell said the OPD was called to a705 West Cummings Ave. Sunday to investigate a complaint of illegal drug use. The OPD’s Officer Paige Spivey located evidence and the Drug Task Force was contacted. A search warrant was issued and served on the residence.

The tenant, Barrie Barrett from Enterprise, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana II and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Barrett was processed into the Covington County Jail under a $10,500 bond, Harrell said.
