A couple was arrested Wednesday for attempting to buy Lortabs, Drug Task Force Cmdr. Mark Odom said.

Sandra Dee Crawford, 24, of Lockhart, and James Daniel Gilley, 26, of Geneva, are each charged with attempting to possess a controlled substance, he said.

“Prescription pill abuse continues to be the biggest drug problem in Covington County,” Odom said. “Their use may have a legitimate beginning, but it can very rapidly turn to addiction and then abuse.”
