Sheriff Dennis Meeks said an Alabama Department of Forensic Science investigation has determined the death of a Carolina man found late last night was from natural causes.

The man was identified as Phillip Moore Barbaree, 46.

Chief Deputy David Anderson said that shortly after midnight, Covington County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched for a welfare check on a residence on Shady Oak Lane. When they arrived, they found Barbaree lying dead in his front yard.
