Johnson, Hand wed

Lyndsey Johnson and Sgt. Davin Hand were married on Nov. 28, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church of Florala.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Joe and Mrs. Karen Johnson of Paxton, Fla., the granddaughter of Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Estelle Felgenhauer of Crestview, Fla., and Mrs. Reba Johnson of Kinston and the late Tank Johnson.
She graduated from the University of Houston in May with a master’s of music in vocal performance. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Berry College in Rome, Ga., also in vocal performance and is glad to be home again performing with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra this season as a soloist in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
The groom is the son of Mr. Dannie Joe and Mrs. Sheila Hand of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and the grandson of Mrs. Lunette Yancey of Bonifay, Fla., and the late Mr. Charles Earl Yancey, the late Mr. James Hand, and the late Mr. Howard and Mrs. Peggy Johnson.
He is proudly serving his eighth year in the United States Army. During his five years on active duty, he has served in Korea and Afghanistan. He joined the Army Reserves to pursue a college education in atmospheric sciences and meteorology.
He is currently working his third season with the South Walton Fire District Surf Rescue Division as a lifeguard on the beaches of Walton County. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he plans on continuing his military career as an active duty commissioned officer.
The couple now resides in south Walton County, Fla.
