The Opp City Council certified Jennifer Ferguson as the official winner in the District 2 race for school board.

One hundred and two people turned out to cast their votes, while four cast absentee ballots.

Ferguson received 60 to T.D. Morgan’s 46.

City Clerk Connie Smith said she is waiting on a bill to find out the exact cost of the election.

Ferguson, who currently sits on the board, along with Robert Young in District 1 and William Hines in District 4, will take office the first Monday in November.
