The Opp Bobcats bounced back from their first game loss to Elba last week, and put up 294 total yards on offense to claim a 21-2 victory over Daleville Friday night at home.

“We’re glad to get the region win,” OHS coach Jack Whigham said. “I thought we played real hard. Our defense played outstanding.”

The Bobcats drew first blood early in the first quarter when quarterback Tyler Harrison connected with Devin Davis from 71 yards out.

In the second quarter, Opp added another touchdown when running back Richard Davis scored from the 3-yard line with 2:20 left on the clock.

Daleville managed to put its two points on the board when Opp had to run the ball out of the end zone.

With 3:38 left in the final quarter, Davis scored again from 16 yards to seal the win.

Opp’s Dylan Northey kicked all of the extra points for the Bobcats.

“We did a little better with kicking this week,” Whigham said.

The Bobcats were 5-of-14 with 134 yards in passing with one touchdown and one interception.

Opp had 160 yards rushing compared to Daleville’s 132.

The Bobcats will hit the road next Friday night to play Luverne.
