Florala’s Zac Fleming and Hunter Oswald had a combined 300 yards total rushing for the Wildcats Friday night, as they helped lead their team to a 20-18 region win over Georgiana, formerly Butler County Magnet School.

“We did a pretty good job of running the ball,” FHS coach Chris Buckler said. “The running backs did a great job.”

Buckler said the score was 18-6 at half time, and in the second half, his team had the ball on offense more than Georgiana.

The Wildcats (1-1, 1-0 in Class 1A, Region 2) will host powerhouse Brantley next Friday night.

“We have a tough opponent playing No. 1 Brantley, but hopefully we’ll continue to build on this momentum we started (Friday night),” Buckler said.
