SHORTER, Ala. (AP) — A Macon County judge has removed his temporary restraining order that kept the Governor’s Task Force on Illegal Gambling from raiding VictoryLand’s closed electronic bingo casino in Shorter.

Circuit Judge Tom Young removed the order Tuesday because the Alabama Supreme Court refused Friday to reconsider its decision that said the task force can operate in Macon County.

The commander of the task force, John Tyson, says he will enforce gambling laws, but won’t announce his moves in advance.

A VictoryLand spokesman says the judge’s actions don’t change anything because VictoryLand hasn’t operated electronic bingo for a month.

VictoryLand has walled off what was once the largest electronic bingo casino in the state.
