CHERYL RAE POWELL

Cheryl Rae Powell, 66, of Georgiana, died Mon., Sept. 27, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 30, from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lewis Powell Sr. of Georgiana; son, Robert Lewis (Darlene) Powell Jr. of Adairsville, Ga.; daughters, Kathy (Roger) Powell of Andalusia and Debbie (Steve) Maddry of Clarksburg, Md.; brother, Johnny (Doris) Thomas of Mobile; sister, Betty Thomas of Mobile; and grandchildren, Wes Powell, Chase Powell, Allyn Powell, Lauren Powell, Steven Maddry and Megan Maddry.

PATRICIA “PAT” LINZY

Patricia “Pat” Linzy, 71, of Andalusia, departed from this life on Sat., Sept. 25, 2010, at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

“Miss Pat” was an avid gardener and an associate with Howell’s Nursery for many years. She had a passion for flowers and a natural talent for creating unique and beautiful arrangements.

She was born in Warren, Ohio, on March 17, 1939, and had made Andalusia her home since 1956.

Interment will be a privately held service by the family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Alicia Linzy of Andalusia; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Hartley McLaney of Montgomery; her grandchildren, Clay and Jodi Henley of Ada, Ala., Tambri Adams of Andalusia, Jessica Linzy of Florala, Hunter Linzy and Zane Linzy, both of Andalusia; two great-grandchildren, Emily Cheyenne Adams of Andalusia and Madilynn Grace Henley of Ada, Ala.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey and Ellen Yarosh of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Mike and Leela Yarosh of Austin, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Willard Blake and Linda Yarosh, both of Leavittsburg, Ohio; as well as her friend, Mrs. Louise Dix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Yarosh; sisters, Alice Rek, Marion Strickland and Rose Strickland; and brothers, Johnny Yarosh and Steven Yarosh.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Comfort Care Hospice.

JASON RANDALL ROOKER

Jason Randall Rooker, 28, of Dundalk, Md., died Tues., Sept. 21, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services were held Sun., Sept. 26, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ariann Z. Rooker of Dundalk, Md.; parents, Robert and Cheryl Rooker of Dozier; brother, Robert J. Rooker of Dozier; maternal grandmother, Meredith O’Hare of Eau Claire, Mich.; maternal grandfather, Brian (Mary Ann) Valley of Orlean Park, Ill.; and paternal grandmother, Jimmie Rooker.

Pallbearers were Christopher Peck, Troy Rowe, Nicholas Burzin, James Termini, David Valley and Matthew Valley.
