Donations needed for Opp history room

Opp City School is currently exploring options to establish a history room at Opp High School.

OCS Superintendent Michael Smithart said a recent conversation about the number of Opp graduates who have achieved a “certain level of acclaim” led to the idea of the project, which will include memorabilia.

“We came up with the idea that it would be nice if we could establish a room that would allow people to donate artifacts and other memorabilia to record the history of Opp City Schools,” he said. Smithart said OCS has a rich history, and the goal is to provide the students, alumni and residents of Opp the opportunity to appreciate some of the accomplishments of Opp graduates.

“We are certainly seeking input from the community, and if anyone would be interested in helping us with it, they can contact our office,” he said.
