It’s all going to be about team work, Opp volleyball coach Christie Spurlin said Thursday.

That’s the name of the game for the Lady Bobcats heading into Monday’s Class 3A, Area 2 tournament in Geneva.

The Lady Bobcats earned the No. 2 seed by defeating Luverne 3-0 Monday night. Their only loss came against Geneva on Sept. 13.

Geneva is No. 1 in the area, and Luverne and Pike County follow Opp in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively.

The tournament will start at 4 p.m. with Geneva playing Pike County. Opp will follow at 5 p.m. against Luverne.

“Hopefully we can beat Geneva,” Spurlin said. “I hope the girls play hard and do their best.”

Spurlin said the key to success is “team work.”

“To me it’s all about team work — playing together as a team,” she said. “I always tell the girls to play like champions because champions win championships.”

The top two teams from the area tournament will advance to the regional tournament on Oct. 16.
