No. 3 Kinston wins area in volleyball

KINSTON — The third-ranked Kinston Lady Bulldogs are area volleyball champions again.

In the championship match, the Lady Bulldogs swept area runner-up Pleasant Home 3-0 in the best of five games.

Kinston (25-15) won 25-15, 25-18, 25-13.

This Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs will host the Class 1A South Regional Tournament, where Pleasant Home will start against Holy Spirit at 11:15 a.m.

Earlier in the tournament, the Lady Eagles (13-11) knocked Florala out of the race, and earned the right to play in the regional tournament.

Pleasant Home defeat the Lady Wildcats 25-4, 25-8, 25-11.
