Two special efforts are planned this week as part of the week-long community cleanup that began Monday.

On Thursday, Andalusia City Councilman Kennith Mount of District 2, encourages residents of his district to meet him at 9 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center for an organized clean-up of litter in the District.

Similarly, District 5 Councilman Terry Powell has challenged residents to meet him at Hardee’s at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, where he promises to buy biscuits for those who join him in clean-up efforts.

All of the efforts are designed to make the city look its best for Absolutely Andalusia Homecoming 2010, which begins Thurs., Nov. 11.

For those not participating in organized efforts, heavy duty trash bags are available at no cost at the Chamber office.
