County Commission Chairman Lynn Sasser said Tuesday that at least two county engineer’s office employees have been terminated for allegedly stealing county-owned property.

“It’s still under investigation, and there are lots more coming,” Sasser said of the arrests. “It’s a sad day when people steal.”

Sheriff Dennis Meeks indicated the investigation is ongoing and declined to release any specifics about the case.
