JERRY HOBSON ZIGLAR SR.

Jerry Hobson Ziglar Sr., 68 of Hempstead, Texas, passed away Oct. 13, 2010, at 8:45 p.m.

A memorial will be held today, Sat., Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Bible Church, located on County Rd. 47 or Indian Creek Road in Opp with Pastor Jerry Elmore officiating.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Una Vae Ziglar; brother, Lavon Ziglar; sisters, Dorothy Burkett and Earline Donaldson; and great-grandson, Blaze Ziglar.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat Ziglar; sons, Jerry Ziglar and wife Angie, Terry Ziglar, Danny Ziglar and wife Wendy, and Jimmy Ziglar; daughters, Rena Williamson and husband Gary, and Trish Tompkins and friend Greg Huckabay; brothers, Dewayne Ziglar and wife Nadine, and Donahue Ziglar and wife Dorothy; sisters, Geraldine Robbins and husband Don, and Pat Page and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Tracy, Michael, Lanie, Bo, Justin, Sam, Makayla, Josh, Danielle, Haley, Brenda, Jesse, Austin, Devon, Harley and Colton; seven great-grandchildren; and his dog, Jake.

RENDA HARRELSON REEVES

Renda Harrelson Reeves, 46, of Andalusia, died Thurs., Nov. 4, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Fri., Nov. 5, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Jackson officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Reeves; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Brandon Carr, all of Andalusia; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Joey and Lindsey Reeves; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and J.T. Raley; her father, Ronnie R. Harrelson; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Carl Lawson; and grandchildren, Jackson Carr and Ocean Reeves.

Pallbearers were Ricky Harrelson, Rhett Harrelson, Chad Hampton, Donald Wilson, Tim Bracewell and Donnie Allen.

Honorary pallbearer was Triston Hilburn.

MRS. DALE C. GRIFFIN

Mrs. Dale C. Griffin, 63, of Troy, died at home Thurs., Nov. 4, 2010, after a three-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held Mon., Nov. 8, at 11 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. David McVay and the Rev. Dave Kirby Officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held Sun., Nov. 7, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Griffin graduated from Red Level High School in 1965, received her bachelor of science degree in history from Troy State University in 1968 and her masters in education from Troy State University in 1977. She was named the “Alumni of the Year in Education” from Troy State University in 1977. Before retirement, she spent 27 years teaching at Montgomery County High School in Ramer. She was a member of the First Methodist church in Troy.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Griffin of Troy; son, Chris (Tiffany) Griffin; grandchildren Noah and Kayla Griffin, all of Prattville; mother and stepfather, Lois and Fritz Duensing of Gantt; mother-in-law, Hilda Griffin of Troy; brother, Randy Campbell (Pat Ezerski) of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Linda (Clarence) Lint of Andalusia; sister-in-law Becky (Dave) Kirby; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her special caregivers, Calressa Barron, Voncile Green and Annie Lois Bean

She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Campbell; father-in-law, Grady Griffin; and grandparents, Mal and Lena Ballard.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Hospice Advantage or the First Methodist Church of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Bernard Richburg, Wayne Stewart, Jack Rainey, William Griswald, James Dunkin, Kelly Burdette, Carroll Dunn and Tim Hornsby.
