Road projects are now under way once again in Florala, and more on tap in the coming days.
Crews began work Monday paving on Sixth Street, and later that evening, city council members approved a paving project on Caton Road.
Funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be used to complete the project.
Crews are also busy working on the Main Street project to install new water and sewer lines in the center of town.
In other business, the council:
• appropriated $150 to the Covington County Economic Development Commission for the annual state capital cook-out.
• voted to install solar lighting on the side of city hall.
• approved a lease for the old city hall building with Merrifield and Pilcher Realty.
• approved a wine license for the Piggly Wiggly.
