A Mary Esther, Fla., man remains in critical condition in a Dothan hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Opp Thanksgiving night.

The Opp Police Department responded to an automobile accident involving a pedestrian on Hwy. 299 near the intersection of U.S. 331 South at 6:29 p.m. Thursday night.

Officers said Jamie Hilliard, 31, of Mary Esther, Fla., was struck by a Buick Roadmaster driven by Jayson Coon from Toxey, Ala.

Hilliard was transported to Mizell Hospital and later to Southeast Medical Center in Dothan where he remained in the critical care unit Friday afternoon.

Coon was not injured in the accident, which remains under investigation by the Opp Police Department.
