MONTGOMERY – Gov. Bob Riley will hold a news conference at 3 p.m. today, Wed., Dec. 1, to discuss a possible special session of the Legislature, his office announced late Tuesday.
Riley has been speaking with legislative leaders and other legislators since the Nov. 2 election about whether to have a special session to pass anti-corruption reforms.
Speculation in political circles is that the governor will issue the call for session to begin on Mon., Dec. 13. Newly-elected legislators are to meet in an orientation session in Tuscaloosa Dec. 6, 7 and 8.
