Straughn’s Tiffany Taylor scored 14 points to help lead the Lady Tigers over Georgiana 44-24 on Tuesday night.

SHS girls coach Scott Kinsaul said his team did well, but “turnovers” are still a problem.

“We still have too many turnovers, and we’ve got to correct that,” he said.

The Lady Tigers improved to 8-2 on the season with the win. They started off the week with a 40-10 win over Kinston on Monday night.

Straughn outscored the Lady Panthers 11-3 in the first period, 11-7 in the second period, 11-6 in the third period and 11-8 in the fourth period.

Audrey Driver scored 10 points for Straughn. Katy Messick and Sierra Danford added eight points each.

Kinsaul said the girls continue to improve each game.

“They understand what we’re trying to do,” he said. “This was one of the better ball games of the year.”

The Lady Tigers will play host to Greenville on Friday, where tip off is at 4:30 p.m. for the B-team.
