The Alabama Supreme Court refused to reconsider its decision upholding the ban on two-year college employees serving in the Legislature.
The request came from, the Alabama Education Association, who asked the state’s high court to reconsider its October decision upholding the ban, but the court refused 8-0 on Friday.
Gov. Bob Riley has consistently pushed for a ban on double dipping not only to include the two-year college system, but state employees in general.
The Legislature placed the double dipping ban into state law during its special session on ethics, but it extended the deadline for legislators to make a choice from 2011 to 2014.
