The Covington Region Honor Flight will hold a volunteer meeting at 4 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 6.

The meeting will be held at the Covington County Commission Administration Building at 260 Hillcrest Drive in Andalusia.

The purpose of the meeting is to recruit volunteers for planning the Fall 2011 Flight to Washington, D.C.

CRHF president Tonitta Sauls said this is the first “official” meeting for planning a 2011 flight.

“We are attempting to bring others into the planning before making any decisions for this year’s flight,” she said. “Two of our board members resigned. We need to replace them as well as establish sub-committees in an effort to improve the logistics of planning the flight.”

Sauls said fundraising has not yet begun, but all official plans will begin after Thursday’s meeting.

“We are in hopes that we can recruit board members and committee members from those who have participated in our first two flights,” she said.
