RICHARD DAYTON FOREHAND

Dayton Forehand, age 63, born Nov. 26, 1947, of Florala, passed away in a Dothan Hospital on Jan. 2, 2011.

There will be a private memorial service.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Forehand; son, Michael Forehand; a stepdaughter, Chrissy Ramer; grandchildren, Macie and Melania Williams and Josh and Kayleigh Forehand; and step grandchildren, Emily and Kyle Padgett.

He was preceded in death by wife, Quida Ramer Forehand, and stepson, Ronnie Ramer.

He will be missed dearly by family and friends.

DOROTHY MILLER BAKER

Dorothy Miller Baker, 84, of the Straughn Community, passed away Tues., Jan. 4, 2011, in the local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., today, Fri., Jan. 7, at Antioch Congregational Church with the Rev. Derwood Cleland officiating and interment following at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her son, son, Thomas (Sandra) Baker; daughter, Rebecca (Anthony H.) Brown, all of Andalusia; brother, Byron Miller of Augusta, Ga.; sisters, Betty (Curtis) Baker and Sara McLendon, both of Andalusia; grandchildren, Monty Kirkland, David Kirkland, Tony (Flilica) Kirkland, Thomas (Traci) Baker, Amanda (Shann) Varner and Katie (Matt) Hammon; 11 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren, Gena Thomas, Kimberly Kinsman and Clay Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Baker; brothers, Cecil Miller, Raymond Miller, Harold Miller, Don Miller and Ferris Miller; and a step grandchild, Christopher Brown.

VIOLA MAY GROSS

Viola May Gross, 85, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., Dec. 30, 2010.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., today, Wed., Jan. 5, 2011, at New Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Allen Kramp and the Rev. Carl Turman officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon Gross (Marion) Rucker of Golconda, Ill.; two sons, Keith Edward (Linda) Gross of Mooresville, Ind., and Kenneth Wayne Gross of Avon, Ind.; grandchildren, Richard Martin Rucker, Laura Lee English, Kenneth Russell Rucker, Marion “Shannon” Rucker Leonard, Megan Gross Pinckard, Patricia Lee Gross Henry, Kimberly Gross and Kenneth Allen Gross; one step-grandchild, Vickie Renee Rucker Myrick; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Edward Gross, and husband of 10 years, Clayton Randolph Miller; parents, Louis H. Jetter and Mary Ida Benicker Jetter; brother, Lawrence Martin Ridings; and sister, Dorothea Desson.

EUGENIA K. BARFOOT

Eugenia K. Barfoot, 87, of Adamsville, Ala., passed away Tues., Jan. 4, 2011.

She was retired from the Department of Pension’s and Security.

Graveside service will be held Sat. Jan. 8, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Bro. Jeff Grimes officiating and Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel directing.

She is survived by her husband Arthur Barfoot; two sons, Raymond Barfoot and Henry (Daara) Barfoot; and four grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) Cox, Ivy (Brandon) Whitley, Alyssa Barfoot and Eric Hancock; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra Cox, Andrew Cox Noah Whitley and Zachary Whitley.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Hancock.
