Covington County 4-H’ers will showcase their finest heifers today beginning at 1 p.m. at the Covington Center Arena.

Chuck Simon, county extension agent, said the annual competition will feature more than 20 entries.

“These kids have worked very hard to bring these heifers to show,” Simon said. “Entries will be judged on showmanship, or the child’s ability to show their heifer, as well as overall best in breed.”

Simon said awards will be given for grand champion and reserve grand champion.

Admission to the event is free.
