Rose Hill VFD gets $102K grant

Rose Hill Volunteer Fire Department was one of 54 fire departments in the state to receive an award for the Assistance to Firefighters grant program.

The department received $102,517 to purchase personal protective equipment.

A total of $5.69 million was awarded by the program, which is supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The program is designed to assist firefighters and other first responders obtain vital equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other necessary resources.
