Civitan queens crowned

Miss Brittany Lynn Snowden was crowned the 2011 Miss Civitan Rodeo Queen Saturday night at the annual Civitan Rodeo.

Among her prizes were a $1,000 scholarship, belt buckle and a saddle rack. Of course, she received her crown and chaps. First alternate in this division was Miss Haley Donelle Jackson, who also received a $500 scholarship.

The scholarship money, which totaled $1,500, was contributed to by the Andalusia Civitan Club, Covington Community Bank, First South Farm Credit, James Gang Amusements, Mr. Eddie Smith and Sun South. The saddle rack was donated by Mr. Anthony Patterson of Baker, Fla., and the belt buckles were contributed by Touch of Country. Ms. Mellisa King contributed the flowers, as well as her time and efforts. Gift bags were also given to alternates by Touch of Country.

Jr. Miss Civitan Queen was Miss Jerilyn Hester; Princess Civitan Queen was Miss Jaycelyn Merchant; Little Princess Civitan Queen was Miss Caitlin Tisdale; Tiny Princess Civitan Queen was Miss Jessa Ann Dubose; and Baby Miss Civitan Queen was Miss Shelby James.

Photogenic winners were Miss Jerilyn Hester, Miss Amanda Jo Morgan, Miss Caitlin Tisdale, Miss Jessa Ann Dubose and Miss Abigail Fore. Alternates were Miss Amanda Jo Morgan, Miss Graycen Worley, Miss Abigail Bledsoe, Miss Zoe Cobb and Miss Abigail Fore.

The Andalusia Civitan Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped put this together, including Ms. Mellisa King, Ms. Marrianne Dubose, Ms. Debbie James and Ms. Kellye Rodgers, as well as the judges. In addition, the Civitans would like to thank all contestants and those who contributed.
