Mr. and Mrs. Michael McDonald of Opp announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristen Marie, to Eric Todd Baumgartner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Baumgartner Jr. of Clinton, Miss.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Vanek and the late Florence McDonald of Mobile and Winona McDonald and the late Jack McDonald of Andalusia.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Huntington College and a master’s in business administration from Troy University. She is currently employed at Barrow Furniture in the corporate office as an accountant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Baumgartner Sr. of Baltimore and Herbert and the late Martha Miller of Round Grove, Ind.

He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and is currently serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, at Ft. Benning, Ga.

The wedding is planned for Sat., May 14, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Opp. No local invitations will be sent. All friends and family are invited to attend.
